Timothy Normington, 39, is sentenced to 18 years in prison for sexually assaulting a disabled patient with a toilet plunger when he was a caregiver with Catholic Charities last year.
The body of Travis Zeier, 19, is found along U.S. 51 near the Dane County Regional Airport. An autopsy later confirms that Zeier was struck and killed by a car the night before. Police had investigated an accident near the airport on Wednesday night, but did not find Zeier's body until the next day.

Madison police arrest Marcus Bonner, 21, and Anthony Freda, 20, in the alleged gang rape of a 23-year-old woman earlier this month. A third man was arrested last week.

David Bracey, 50, is shot to death by police after a standoff in Wisconsin Dells. Police suspect he robbed a Home Depot earlier in the afternoon. Bracey, who had a lifelong struggle with drug addiction, was the subject of an Isthmus cover story in 2003.
Sunday 9.17
The body of Dylan Brooks, 20, is found under a bridge on West Badger Road. Brooks, a registered sex offender, had been missing from the Dane County jail, when he failed to return last week after a medical appointment. Police are calling his death a suicide.
Monday 9.18
Alicia Hatzinger, 19, is found dead of multiple traumatic injuries in her town of Burke home. A car registered to a family member, which Hatzinger often drove, is discovered burning at an Interstate rest stop near Janesville. Authorities later arrest an unidentified suspect out of state.
CDW Corp. announces it is buying Fitchburg-based Berbee Information Networks Corp. for $175 million. The IT company's 800 employees will continue to work in Fitchburg.

The Animal Crackers daycare center is fined $1,000 by the state for allowing a pair of toddlers to wander off last month. The children were missing for half an hour, but eventually found unharmed.
The state Department of Health and Family Services reports 39 E. coli cases in Wisconsin, including six in Dane County. The cases are part of a nationwide outbreak that was apparently caused by tainted spinach. A 77-year-old Manitowoc woman has died from the illness.
