On Wednesday, Mayor Dave Cieslewicz's schedule indicates he will tour "Silke O'Donnell's day care center." That would be Sunshine Family Day Care in Madison's Burr Oaks neighborhood, located across Fish Hatchery Road from the site Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk hopes to build a new work-release jail facility.
The county's current work-release facility on Rimrock Road is bursting at the seams, but the mayor has opposed the Fish Hatchery site for its replacement. In a December article from the Wisconsin State Journal, O'Donnell said, "As a neighborhood association we're going to fight this, but we alone don't have the political power. We need support from politicians."
