Mayor Dave Cieslewicz took the holidays off, and Weekly Whereabouts followed suit. But both are back on the job today, albeit without much in the way of content to chew on.
On Thursday, the mayor meets with Bob and Adam Fink of Joseph Freed & Associates, the firm responsible for the dramatic reshaping of Hilldale Shopping Center in the past few years. Some will remember that Cieslewicz pointed to the potential for mixed-use development in the acres of parking lots surrounding area malls when he first ran for office in 2003.
After erecting condos, more retail space, a handful of restaurants and a movie theater, the Finks and their firm aren't resting. However, plans to erect more condos and a hotel on the properties far western edge have stalled.
