Plan Commission
Monday, Dec. 1, 5:30 p.m.
Room 201, City-County Building
The Plan Commission considers whether to allow partial demolition of the old Royster-Clark fertilizer plant on the east side. Last fall, a state official from the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection raised a concern that tearing down the building could contaminate the groundwater. The commission had delayed its decision on the demolition until now, hoping to give city officials more time to figure out how to prevent the contamination.
Common Council
Tuesday, Dec. 2, 6:30 p.m.
Room 201, City-County Building
Last month, the council created a new Housing Diversity Planning Committee, to come up with new affordable housing options. The committee's suggestions, whatever they may be, are supposed to replace the failed inclusionary zoning ordinance, which expires next month. But not everyone likes the idea of creating a new ad hoc committee.
Alds. Brenda Konkel (a primary sponsor of IZ) and Lauren Cnare are moving reconsideration of the new committee. Konkel says they were asked to do so by members of the Inclusionary Zoning Advisory Oversight Committee, who "were all very upset that the Housing Committee isn't being used for this work."
Anything that results in one less committee gets our vote.
Dane County Board
Thursday, Dec. 4, 7 p.m.
