Bethesda Softworks (PlayStation 2, PC) Rated Teen
At first glance, this looks like an impressive game. You take the perspective of swashbuckling Captain Jack Sparrow, and though you're playing scenes from the first movie, they don't develop in quite the way you may remember them. In fact, playing Jack's version of things changes the experience so much that, at times, you're not sure just what's going to happen next.
Unfortunately, the game's puzzles are only mildly challenging, and the bad guys you fight are pathetically easy to beat. If the developers had spent a little more time on the graphics and the sword-fighting mechanics - and added a bit more content so that the game lasted more than one rainy Saturday gaming session - this could have been a title to talk about.
