When Black Rebel Motorcycle Club played at the Annex last Sunday, September 16, it marked their first concert in Madison since 2001 when they opened for the Dandy Warhols at the same Regent Street venue. It was fitting, then, that the turbid garage rock band played a particularly long set for well over two hours.
"Wow, what an amazing show," reports one fan who attended the concert. "They played for almost three hours, more than half of that being the encore. A very high-energy act. By the second to last song, the drummer looked about ready to quit -- I bet there's some good behind-the-music action there."
One of the many songs played there by BRMC was "Show Is About To Begin," a b-side on their "Weapon of Choice" single from their new album Baby 81. A live concert clip of this performance follows below.
