"Tuesday night is open-mic night," proclaims The Klinic, a bar, grill, and busy music venue located in the Greenbush and nestled appropriately between two hospitals. Musicians are encouraged to take advantage of amps, drums, and audio provided by the club for these shows.
Two emcees who have hit the stage there recently are The Verbal Architect and SkYy. The former is currently collaborating with Germany-based DJ Nordstern on an album, while the latter freestyles at various open-mikes around town. "The hip hop culture in Madison is great," declares SkYy. "People show me lots of love when I'm on stage doin' open mic or when I'm kickin' freestyles at a house party."
