Melancholia: In Lars von Trier's science-fiction drama, Earth is on a collision course with a massive heavenly body, and a woman named Justine (Kirsten Dunst) suffers crushing depression. This is a grim, agonizingly suspenseful film, and a lovely one.

Theron gives a brilliant performance, and the film sees the humor in various situations without making fun of the characters.
