Mirror, Mirror: This umpteenth update of Snow White holds fast to the tale's most tiresome aspects: Snow's (Lily Collins) dull sweetness and the evil Queen's (Julia Roberts) one-track motivation. The filmmaking is fussy and bereft of wit.
A Thousand Words: A fast-talking Hollywood agent (Eddie Murphy) is hit with a curse that will kill him once he speaks a thousand words. The idea of Murphy, that famously motormouthed actor, suddenly tongue-tied is not a punchy enough punch line to carry a whole film, though it has a few interesting things to say about the path to inner peace.
