If you see Water for Elephants, keep an eye out for some stars from Wisconsin. Appearing alongside Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson are 15 vintage wagons from Baraboo's Circus World Museum. The museum's library and research center also worked with filmmakers to re-create the atmosphere of a circus during the Great Depression.
Only wagons with non-original finishes were chosen, so that they could be repainted for the film without sacrificing historical integrity. Museum staff traveled with the wagons and safeguarded them during production in California. In June, Circus World will present a special exhibit on the film's making.
