Ticketing for the Wisconsin Film Festival has been delayed one week, to further test a new computerized sales system. Tickets will now go on sale Saturday, March 31.
The software used in previous years no longer meets the festival's needs, according to Christina Martin-Wright, the event's director of operations and development.
"This [new] system will let us get a much better understanding of the individual film enthusiasts who make up our loyal audience," she says. "This will help us immeasurably with everything from programming to venue selection to merchandising options."
Most important, however, is the increased security the new system provides to purchasers, she adds.
