Tamara Keith
A familiar voice from National Public Radio (and a host covering the White House for The NPR Politics Podcast), Tamara Keith is also the public affairs journalist in residence at the UW La Follette School for the spring semester. For the school's annual Offner Lecture, Keith will speak on a pressing problem for the health of both the media and democracy: the gradual decline of trust in traditional news media. Register to attend in person or via livestream on Eventbrite (which also includes sign-up for the La Follette School's annual alumni and friends reception, at 5 p.m.).
media release: Please join us for two La Follette School events on Wednesday, March 29! Both events will be held at the Overture Center at 201 State Street, Madison.
From 5 - 7 p.m., all members of our La Follette School community are welcome to our Madison-area La Follette School Alumni & Friends Reception. Alumni of any year, current students, faculty, friends, and supporters of the La Follette School are encouraged to attend this annual social event. Hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar will be available. During the reception, the La Follette School Student Association (LSSA) will host a table and sell La Follette School merchandise.
The reception will be followed by the 2023 Offner Lecture featuring National Public Radio White House correspondent Tamara Keith from 7 - 8 p.m. The lecture will feature a presentation from Keith on the impacts of recent events, like the coronavirus pandemic and the 2022 midterm elections, on low-income populations, followed by a moderated Q&A. Submit a question for Tamara Keith here.
All events are free, open to the public, and generously funded by the Offner Lecture Series and Kohl Initiative. Tamara Keith’s lecture will be livestreamed, and a recording will be available after the event on La Follette School’s YouTube page.
