UW Pyle Center 702 Langdon St., Madison, Wisconsin 53706
UW Center for Russia, East Europe and Central Asia (CREECA) symposium, 8:30 am-3:30 pm
media release: This event is free and open to the public. More information can be found here.
What lessons might be drawn—for us in the here and now—from studying the cultural space of pre-1989 (post-)totalitarian East Central Europe? How might dissidentism as practiced in that time and place help us better understand dissent as a general modern phenomenon? Please join us for a one-day symposium that explores these questions. The event features presentations by ten scholars of the East Central European culture of dissent.
