UW Memorial Union-Main Gallery 800 Langdon St., Madison, Wisconsin 53706
media release: The Wisconsin Union Directorate (WUD) Art Committee will be hosting an opening reception for the 95th iteration of its student art show. As WUD Art's longest standing tradition on campus, the student art show spotlights the work of all artists and makers on campus, and exposes their work in a gallery space which can see up to 25,000 visitors per year. In addition to this, students can benefit by receiving honorarium for the purchase of their displayed work.
The student art show is juried and curated by Adriana Barrios, an educator, curator and multidisciplinary artist in her own right. She currently manages engagement for exhibitions and programs for the gallery spaces housed in UW's School of Human Ecology. Since 2009 she has curated over 40 exhibitions for institutions such as the Racine Museum of Art and Kent State University.
