Isthmus Hibiscus cocktail
Summer is rooftop imbibing season, and Fresco offers a short cocktail menu to help you gaze wistfully at the sculpture installations on the rooftop of MMoCA. Right now you can look down on State Street from above while sipping an Isthmus Hibiscus (say that three times fast), a tasty blend of passion tea syrup, St. George Spirits Terroir gin, lemon and club soda.
Terroir is a high-quality and complex gin with a fantastic earthiness to it, which here gets a sweet-and-sour lift from hibiscus tea.
The glamorous Sparkling Berries, a light cocktail with raspberry purée, vodka and cava, is something that might be equally at home on a rooftop in, say, Cannes. It’s all fruit and wine and spritz.
The Madison Mule fuels the continuing kombucha craze with a ginger variety paired with a touch of lime and mint. The potato-based, and gluten-free, 44° North vodka forms the boozy backdrop.
Fresco reports it will be changing its entire menu June 1, though it may save one or two drinks — as yet to be determined.
