The U.S. Department of Health Services reports that more than 68,000 Wisconsin residents signed up for Obamacare in the final seven weeks of the enrollment period, almost doubling the number of people using the new marketplace.
A Dane County deputy shoots and kills 50-year-old Dean A. Caccamo in his Primrose home. Deputies were responding to a call that Caccamo's mother, Rosemary Hansen, and stepfather, Robert Hansen, had been beaten. Caccamo, who reportedly suffered from schizophrenia, allegedly stabbed Lt. Brian Hayes and Deputy Roger Finch before Deputy James Kelley shot him. The injured officers are recovering.
The Associated Press reports that Gov. Scott Walker has not divulged how much he was paid to write Unintimidated: A Governor's Story and a Nation's Challenge, other than to report it was more than $1,000. The book has sold only 18,000 copies in six months.

Londrell Johnson, 33, allegedly stabs three people inside an apartment at 2617 E. Washington Ave., killing Robin Rae Grossmann, 57, and her daughter, Charity Rae Grossmann, 34. Charity Grossmann's teenage son is injured. Police later shoot and kill Johnson. A 4-year-old child in the apartment is uninjured.

The annual -- and sometimes destructive -- Mifflin Street Block Party occurs with scant trouble. The Wisconsin State Journal reports one arrest and 12 citations. Many partiers were lured away by the Revelry music festival, held on Langdon Street. If you can't beat them, spread them out.
