When Becky Malke of Madison heard that Michael Moore was making a new film, about the nation's health insurance industry, she was excited. She visited his website to learn more, and saw that he was asking members of the public to share their experiences. The rest is history.
Malke, at the time, was employed as a health insurance salesperson, working out of the Middleton office of Humana, a major health-insurance provider. Her job was to field calls from people seeking price quotes and to process applications for individual (as opposed to group) coverage.
She discussed her experiences in scenes that made it into Moore's film, as seen here on this excerpt fromSicko.
