There will be yet one more debate between Mayor Paul Soglin and challenger Ald. Scott Resnick before Tuesday, April 7, when voters have to make a choice on who they want as Madison mayor.
The candidates will meet at the Barrymore Theatre on March 19. The debate is sponsored by seven neighborhood associations, the Homeless Services Consortium of Madison, WORT 89.9 FM and Isthmus. Renee Lauber, a board member of the Marquette Neighborhood Association, will moderate. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. Attendees can stay after the formal program concludes at 8 p.m.
Lauber will pose questions that have been gathered from members of the sponsoring groups. Audience members can also submit questions via index cards during the debate. The event will be broadcast live on WORT 89.9 FM and webcast on wortfm.org and isthmus.com.
Blankets, warm clothing and nonperishable food items will be collected as part of a food and clothing drive at the event.
Neighborhood association sponsors include the Marquette Neighborhood Association, Tenney Lapham Neighborhood Association, Schenk Atwood Starkweather Yahara Neighborhood Association, Worthington Park Neighborhood Association and Capitol Neighborhoods.
