Likes the bathrooms
From my experience, Peter Truby is much closer to the truth about thangs @ the Majestic ("A Live-Music Empire," 8/9/2013). The place is void of atmosphere unless you is a student. The sound is consistently subpar. The bartenders are surly. The beer selection is poor and they make you wear a wristband! No dark beer! The place is aimed @ make'n money and the music comes last. The opening acts are just something they throw in front. I do like the bathrooms under the stage! There should be seatbelts in the balcony.

Re Solidarity Singers: There's a big difference between singing and screaming ("Screaming to the Choir," Letters, 8/16/2013). Exaggerating is dishonest, as is the assertion by a political conservative (Robert Wolfenberger) that people should shut up when their side loses. Right-wing groups and individuals have been harassing women at health clinics that include abortion in their patient care since conservatives "lost" Roe v. Wade in 1973.
Our Solidarity Singers as well as Wisconsinites who protested at the Capitol in 2011 are/were acting on principle, just as anti-abortion protesters claim to do. The singers are good humored, completely nonviolent, sing on pitch and on rhythm with great harmonies, and the lyrics are hilarious. I would proudly show off the Solidarity Singers to out-of-town guests.
