Wrong frequency
"Community groups find a voice in low-frequency radio," said the headline on the cover of a recent Isthmus ("Power Grab," 11/18/2011). Wow, I thought, maybe the Navy has agreed to a reactivation of Project ELF up at Clam Lake, this time for more progressive purposes, allowing liberals in the submarine service to receive community radio. But no, it turns out to be an article on low-power radio. That's different.

Keep polls nonpartisan
I am opposed to mixing politics and poll workers ("Politics and Poll Workers," 11/25/11). For one reason, this should be nonpartisan; and for another, it is deceptive, since people who are brought in are untrained and inexperienced.

Play fair with Penn State
I was compelled to write after reading your Tell All columnist and his/her two entries from Bucky Boy and Team Player regarding the Penn State football team ("Penn State Not Welcome," 11/25/11). We actually attended the game and were welcomed by Wisconsin fans all weekend. The camaraderie and good sportsmanship was a welcome change from the events plaguing our globe at present.
For Bucky and Team Player to even suggest that the Penn State football team be banished and not be allowed to finish their season because of the actions of non-players is unconscionable and idiotic. I would also suggest that the aforementioned do their research. A fund was set up by the students to help the sexual-assault victims almost immediately after the news broke regarding the tragedy at Penn State. The student body raised over $100,000 in two weeks. The fund and their efforts continue to grow in support of the victims. The PSU players are included in the victimization in this sordid story.
Bucky Boy, Team Player, please note that the legacy of Penn State football, especially the legacy of Joe Paterno, cannot be erased or ignored.
